Think of this more as me just publicly bookmarking something. I don't use del.icio.us even though I should.

I haven't had a chance to give it a good review, but I wanted to share. Thanks to Scott Smiley for the link.

Some reading for Friday, sent to me courtesy of Pete Turner, V.P. of Business Development at The Indiana Heart Hospital.

This paper, from the California Healthcare Foundation, by Jane Sarasohn-Kahn of THINK-Health, looks like a great read on social media and the power it can have in health care. I haven't had a chance to give it a proper read, but I wanted to share.

Some of the topics covered are collective wisdom, the business of social networking, and what's next.

Give a read and leave a comment with your thoughts.

I have said this many times.

SEO is easy.

Search engines want to find you, all you have to do is be there. Having said that, until recently, it never occurred to me that a lot of people don't understand how to do that.

I am not a fool, I know that tweaking SEO can be a challenge, but that is part of the fun.

Dan shared a great article that does a better job of summarizing than I can.

Optimizing your site has to more than buying keywords and getting links, an organizaiton needs to be omni-present, and simulatneously exist across multiple platforms.

SEO is now Google Adwords, Twitter, mySpace, FaceBook, LinkedIn, Plaxo Pulse, SocialSpark, your blog, my blog, and your neighbors blog, as well as widgets and links in comments and message boards, and wikipedia.

That is only the random list I could pull from my brain at 10:00 at night, but one of the best parts of that list is a lot of the work on social networking sites can be done for you by encouraging your customer and employees to use the internet. That could mean blogging, or it could mean creating and encouraging things like Ning sites, facebook groups, blogging, and YouTube videos.

The iMedia Survey results were posted to iMedia Connection on February 19th.

I still don't know that I am following their graphs correctly, but the one below blew me away.

If I am translating this cylindrical rainbow correctly, over half of the brand marketers (in the top bar) responded "More than one on this list" notice that the list does not include TV, radio, or print.

This slide shows that most of the money is coming out of TV budgets. Uh Oh!

I had a great meeting with my team and some of our creative partners today. This meeting led to a great discussion regarding online advertising, and it led me to some realizations.

The most important thing I have found as a web user and working in new media is creative. It used to be easy to make a banner ad and get someone to click it, but as targeting becomes easier and easier, the creative can become more challenging.

Parts of it are easier, as the more you know about your target, the more you can tailor the message, but integrating the messaging can be more challenging.

Another challenge is of course, the fact that the medium is constantly changing, illustrated by YouTube's new video advertising, and Google's new video advertising on their results pages.

Dan shared this really great video below, as both of us attempt to catch up on eMail at 10:30 at our homes. We here at Community are constantly attempting to sum up the vastness of our collective knowledge, and Dan seems to have found a video that does it in 5 minutes.

It really is worth the time to watch, and I have a feeling I will be watching it a few more times with other members of our organization.

I just had our second report card meeting with Marty and Compendium, and I must admit that I am finding it hard to find the time to get in here and blog.
I have been sick this week, and have been trying to get caught up. Its easy to get sucked into the projects that need to get done and hard to set aside 15 minutes to blog, but having someone like Marty to keep you on track has been extremely helpful.

I have been working on a lot of really exciting projects, including a new project for Women's and Children's Services (Maternity Services), myCommunity (our patient portal), maternal fetal medicine (hight risk maternity services), as well as some overall all network projects.

2008 is starting out a busy year. Keep an eye out for more updates!
